On Transparency

I have come to understand that transparency is important.

If you want to build trust with people, be transparent. If you want to have a smooth relationship (with yourself, friends, God, business partners, romantic relationships, employee-employer relationships, etc.), be transparent.

Transparency is related to vulnerability. Eniola Alex (https://www.linkedin.com/in/eniolaalex/) taught me vulnerability, and I am grateful.

For example, if you are handling the collection and disbursement of funds in a setting, it is important to communicate how much was received, how much was spent, how much is left, and what it will be used for. The same thing applies when you are managing resources (human or non-human).

It makes me wonder when married couples say they can’t disclose their monthly earnings to their partners. I believe that you two should be naked. Adam and Eve were naked in the Garden of Eden.

All in all, we are unique and distinct entities. Humans are the most complex and complicated creation of God. Be self-aware and do what works for you. What works for you might not work for me, and vice versa.

Peace and light, 🕊

Side note: I recently changed my bio across all my social networks to “Product (UX) Designer • Lover of Brymo and Asa’s Music • Self-awareness and Interpersonal Skills Advocate", and I will start sharing my 2 cents on self-awareness and interpersonal skills on Medium by starting a series. Anticipate the first episode.
